Positioning Statement
Bone is living, growing tissue, which undergoes changes throughout our lives. They grow in size and strength over time, with peak bone mass typically achieved between 18 and 35 years of age. No matter our age, however, it is important to continue focusing on the maintenance of our strong bones.
Bone is made mostly of calcium, a mineral that is important for its composition, and collagen, a protein that provides a soft framework for bones. More than 90% of the total calcium in the body is located in the bones and teeth. This mineral plays a role in the maintenance of bone health and bone strength, are necessary for maintaining the general health of the body and a sturdy skeletal structure As our skeleton provides structural support for our entire body, helps protect vital organs, and keeps us standing upright and on the move, strong and healthy bones allow us to enjoy many of life’s activities.
Bone Formula contains several vitamins that also contribute to the maintenance of bone strength. Vitamin D, for instance, helps us absorb calcium from our diet and increases calcium absorption in the bones. It is produced in the skin upon sunlight exposure, as well as from what we eat. It is important to make sure that the body takes in sufficient vitamin D. Vitamin K also plays a role in bone formation by helping fix calcium to the bones, while vitamin C is important for the normal formation of collagen, a structural component of our bones. Other minerals present in Bone Formula, such as magnesium, manganese, and zinc also contribute to the maintenance of bone health.

Learn More About It
What sources of calcium does Bone Formula provide?
Bone Formula blends three sources of calcium (calcium carbonate/magnesium carbonate, calcium malate, and calcium-L-ascorbate). The blend of calcium carbonate/magnesium carbonate is derived from mineralised, calcified red seaweed that can be found in certain sub-oceanic locations. During its life cycle, this unique seaweed absorbs nutrients from the clear, cold, mineral-rich Atlantic waters before it calcifies. This natural source of minerals provides calcium and magnesium.
What is the role of vitamin K2?
Bone formula delivers a special form of vitamin K known as menaquinone or vitamin K2. This vitamin is important for the composition of the bones as it activates a protein, osteocalcin, in order to bind calcium to the bone matrix.
Studies have shown that K2 has a better bioavailability than vitamin K1.
What is the role of magnesium?
In the human body, 50 to 60% of magnesium is located in the bone tissue and teeth. Magnesium is involved in the regulation of calcium metabolism and, as such, plays a role in bone production.
